Amaris Castillo is the Assistant Entertainment Editor for Univision News.
Prior to joining Univision, she worked as a staff writer for Latina.com, where she reported on everything from entertainment and culture to hard news. While at Latina, Amaris helped increase the magazine’s presence on social media by co-managing its Twitter and Facebook accounts.

Her work has appeared in Latina Magazine, Huffington Post, PODER Magazine, nocheLatina.com, and the St. Petersburg Times. Amaris has also contributed a photo series to UptownCollective.com.
The daughter of hard-working Dominican immigrants, Amaris was born and raised in New York City and spent her adolescence and college years in Florida, where she earned a B.A. in Magazine Journalism from the University of South Florida. In 2011, she received a Master of Science from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
Amaris is a fan of spoken word poetry, chocolate and thriller films – in no particular order.
