
Diana Oliva Cave is a video journalist and filmmaker based in Mexico City. Prior to joining Univision, she worked in independent film and as a freelance producer, shooting and editing videos mainly for The New York Times. She was the Times’ first full-time multimedia producer in the Baghdad bureau and her work contributed to both an Overseas Press Club award for Web coverage and a finalist spot for the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for international reporting. Later, freelancing for the Times in Miami, she produced videos on immigration, hurricanes, sports, nightlife and out-of-control pythons.
The daughter of Cuban immigrants, she was born and graduated from high school in New Jersey but lived just about everywhere else in between, including Mexico and Milan. She has a BA from Boston College and an MFA in Film from Columbia University.
